Dunwoody Resident Long Tran Declares Run for House District 80

Dekalb County, GA, February 1, 2022 – Dunwoody Resident, Long Tran, declares his intent to run for Georgia State House District 80, formerly House District 79, in Dekalb County. Cities included in the District are Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody.

Long Tran, owner of Peachy Corners Cafe, has worked tirelessly over the past four years to help elect candidates with integrity.

Long says he intends to run a grassroots outreach that will encompass communities that are now part of the district.

“House District 80 not only covers the majority of Dunwoody, but now includes Doraville and an increased portion of Chamblee. The communities in these cities make HD 80 one of the most ethnically and economically diverse districts in the state. A candidate needs to be able to reach all constituents regardless of their political leanings and be able to listen to and represent all voices on the campaign trail and at the Gold Dome.

I’m asking the voters of HD80 to send me to the Gold Dome. I believe my experience as a small business owner, as a neighbor advocating for better schools for our children, as a parent, and as a leader serving on the Economic Recovery Committee for Dunwoody that I have the vision and leadership to represent our newly redrawn district.”

In addition to owning a small business, Long Tran has worked as an IT Consultant for over 25 years in the areas of network security, web development, and mobile app development.

Long is more recently recognized for his advocacy work in the discontinuance of Asian Hate after the increase in violent crimes directed toward the Asian community. This work included the Metro Atlanta targeted Asian Spa shootings just one year ago.

During President Biden’s first 100 day visit to Atlanta, Long was humbly awarded the opportunity to introduce President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden before the president addressed a large crowd touting the accomplishments of his first 100 days.
